Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities
ServiceNow SAM Pro Architecture & Configuration
Architect, configure, and implement ServiceNow SAM Pro solutions using out-of-the-box (OOB) capabilities and best-practice data models.
Design and build license reconciliation rules, entitlement models, and compliance calculations for major software publishers.
Configure entitlement import, normalization, and reconciliation processes to ensure accurate license positions.
Lead SAM Pro technical design decisions across discovery, CMDB, procurement, and contract data
Discovery, Integrations & Connectors
Implement and manage ServiceNow discovery and third-party connectors to ingest usage, installation, and consumption data.
Configure and optimize ServiceNow MID Server architecture to support scalable and secure integrations.
Ensure accurate data flow from discovery sources into SAM Pro for reconciliation and compliance reporting.
Troubleshoot data gaps, reconciliation issues, and connector failures.
Data Quality, CMDB & Normalization
Define and enforce data quality standards required for accurate license compliance.
Configure normalization rules for software models, publishers, and versions using ServiceNow Content Library.
Align SAM Pro with CMDB best practices, ensuring correct CI relationships and lifecycle states.
Identify and remediate data anomalies impacting license reconciliation outcomes.
Compliance, Optimization & Reporting
Configure publisher-specific license metrics and compliance rules within SAM Pro.
Build and maintain technical dashboards and reports for compliance, consumption, and optimization.
Support audit readiness by ensuring traceable, system-generated license positions.
Optimize SAM Pro performance for large data volumes and complex reconciliation scenarios
Technical Leadership & Governance
Serve as the technical authority for SAM Pro architecture and configuration standards.
Provide technical guidance to developers, administrators, and implementation teams.
Review and approve SAM Pro technical designs and enhancements.
Stay current with ServiceNow SAM Pro releases and apply platform enhancements where applicable.
Required Skills & Experience
7+ years of ServiceNow platform experience with deep specialization in SAM Pro.
Proven experience architecting license reconciliation and entitlement management within ServiceNow.
Strong hands-on expertise with SAM Pro OOB features, workflows, and data models.
Experience with ServiceNow Discovery, normalization, and content services.
Strong understanding of software licensing metrics and how they are modeled technically in SAM Pro.
Advanced troubleshooting skills for reconciliation, data quality, and integration issues.
Experience designing scalable SAM Pro solutions in large enterprise environments
Preferred Qualifications
ServiceNow SAM Pro certification.
ServiceNow ITAM or CMDB certifications.
Experience supporting complex, multi-publisher SAM implementations.
Strong scripting knowledge (Business Rules, Script Includes) to extend SAM Pro where necessary while maintaining OOB alignment.
